Oracle Application

Oracle Application services

Oracle is a multinational computer technology company. It provides integrated hardware systems and business enterprise software, especially database management systems – called Oracle RDBMS (relational database management systems).

Through many acquisitions, Oracle has become one of the largest computer technology companies in the world, after IBM and Microsoft. Still, in the relational database industry, it holds about a 50% market share, competing directly with SAP. One of its biggest competitors was PeopleSoft, which it subsequently acquired. Its purchase of Sun Microsystems increased its exposure in the open source world.

Its application framework, called Oracle Application Framework (OAF), is J2EE based, though it also utilizes such standards as HTML, XML, Java, JSP, SQL, and Web Services. It is a Model-View-Controller (MVC) technology stack, comprised of underlying technologies like UNIX and BC4J, and an Application Object Library. Its key benefits are consistency, interactivity, security, functionality, durability, and extensibility.

The MVC design pattern simplifies maintenance and component reuse across applications as such layers are independent. The layers are as follows:

  • Business Services Layer. This layer provides access to data from various sources and handles business logic.
  • Model Layer. This layer provides an abstraction layer on top of the BS layer which enables the View and Controller layers to consistently work with different implementations of BS.
  • Controller Layer. This layer provides a mechanism to control the flow of the Web application
  • View Layer. This layer is represented by the User interfaces.

One can use any supported programming language or technology to represent each layer as they see fit. This grants any company the power to tailor Oracle applications to their specific business and make the software implementation unique.

The server-side memory structure is called the System Global Area (SGA). This holds the cache information, such as data buffers, SQL commands, and user information. The software also contains transactional history, so one can undo a certain number of actions, especially handy for data recovery and replication.

Lexprosoft Technologies possesses a team of veteran IT professionals who are engaged in tailoring Oracle technology to satisfy the multi-faceted business requirements of various organizations. The team has so far worked on several databases of Oracle such as 7, 8i, 9i, 10g. Among our various server applications we have also engaged Oracle server applications such as 9i, 10g.

What we really offer via Oracle Technology:

  • Data migration
  • Data cleanup
  • Integration and up-gradation of legacy databases
  • Engaging SQL & PL/SQL for database development
